Valve services for shutdowns and plant maintenance
Field service, on-call troubleshooting, revitalisation at our Ahmedabad works and shutdown teams — from a company that has made industrial valves since 1960. For shutdown and maintenance managers in Gujarat and across India.

01 / Services
Six ways we look after your valves
From a single valve that will not move to every valve in the plant — on site, at our works, or over a video call.
S-01
Field services of valves
At your plant
We take full responsibility for the valves in service at your plant. Our team works inside the plant with specialised equipment, standard operating procedures and supervision.
Maximum uptime and the shortest valve turnaround
Data on which valves and locations keep failing
Spares estimated so a minimum stock is always held
S-02
On-call services
Video call
When a valve of any make, type or size will not operate and your operators have tried everything, our specialists join a video call to understand the problem and suggest immediate, short-term and long-term fixes.
Safety protocols to follow while you work
With you, virtually, through the troubleshooting
A team sent to site if the problem persists
S-03
Revitalisation at our works
At our works
Before you scrap problem valves and buy new, send them to us. Revitalisation follows API, MSS SP, ANSI and IBR standards, with 100% third-party inspection, re-certification and a warranty.
Passing, gland leaks, broken spindles, lining or seat damage, dead gearboxes
Upgrades: impact-wrench-operated gearboxes and live-load stuffing boxes
S-04
Shutdown services
Planned outages
A shutdown is planned well in advance and carried out in a short window. We bring skilled people with the domain knowledge and stamina to work continuously, backed by our R&D and manufacturing teams, for mechanical and instrumentation valves.
Working towards an incident-free shutdown
Our works on call for anything unexpected
S-05
Supply of customised spares
Made to suit
Customised spares for valves and pumps, planned from what your plant actually uses — so the right parts are on the shelf when a valve is opened up.
Spares for valves and pumps
Quantities estimated from field-service records

Valve selection for specific applications
Advisory
Unsure which valve suits a duty, or seeing the same location fail again and again? Over sixty years of making valves for a wide range of services help us choose:
The right valve type and standard specification
The right supplementary tests and testing standards
The right painting standard for the application
Pumps on the same line? Our sister service, VENU Pumps, handles pump overhauling, 24×7 field service and maintenance contracts.
Five chronic valve problems — and how we deal with them
Most valve trouble traces back to selection, installation and storage, testing at manufacture, or maintenance that slipped. These are the five we see most.
P-01
Passing and seat leakage
Large metal-seated valves are often not made to zero leakage in the first place. We check every metal-overlaid part for chemistry, physical properties and internal defects, and allow enough wear travel for positive shut-off years later.
P-02
Gearbox failure
A gearbox should give way before the spindle bends. If the handwheel rim needs more than about 30 kg, something inside is usually jammed — free it rather than force it. We offer helical gearboxes that run by hand or by impact wrench.
P-03
Spindle breakage
Common in instrumentation and quarter-turn valves, mostly from over-torque. Spindle bar stock needs its properties checked and ultrasonic testing for internal flaws, and stems need extra section for slurries, fibres and viscous fluids.
P-04
Gland leakage
The gland is a dynamic joint that loosens with pressure cycles and line vibration. Our live-load stuffing box stops it: large gate, globe and swing check valves fitted with it have passed helium leak tests.
P-05
Plant corrosion
Near the coast or with aggressive fluids, coatings decide plant life. Our in-house paint shop works to approved procedures, and every rubber or PTFE lining is spark-tested at high voltage.
GUIDE
The full troubleshooting guide
Causes, checks and fixes for each of these problems, with photographs, on the main VENU Valves website.
The path a valve takes through revitalisation at our works. Field and shutdown jobs follow the same discipline on site.
Inspection
We record the valve as received and the trouble reported from the plant.
Dismantling
Stripped down, with every part tagged to its valve.
Condition report
Findings and the proposed scope reach you before repair work begins.
Repair & upgrades
Machining and part replacement, plus upgrades where they help.
Reassembly
The valve is rebuilt to the agreed scope and set up for testing.
Testing
Pressure-tested at our works, with third-party inspection.
Final report
Records and re-certification go back with the valve.

05 / Why us
Serviced by the people who make valves
1960Established
Valve makers first
Venus Engineering Works has designed and manufactured industrial valves in Ahmedabad since 1960. Servicing draws on the same design knowledge, works and R&D.
1975IBR
An IBR-approved workshop
Approved under the Indian Boiler Regulations since 1975, for valves from 15 to 1000 MM NB and ratings from 150# to 2500#.
HeliumLeak tested
Leak-tight where it matters
Hard-seated gate, globe and swing check valves have achieved helium leak rates below 1 × 10−7 using the hood method.
In-houseTesting
Testing under one roof
Hydro and air testing; radiographic film viewing plus ultrasonic, magnetic-particle and dye-penetrant checks by ASNT-qualified staff; a paint shop with DFT and adhesion checks.
2020+Track record
A growing service practice
Revitalisation customers grew from 2020, major shutdown jobs followed in 2022, and multi-location maintenance contracts began in 2024.

06 / FAQ
Questions shutdown and maintenance managers ask
Something else on your mind? Call or WhatsApp us on +91 94291 29327.
Do you service valves made by other manufacturers?
Yes. We service valves we supplied as well as valves from other makers, and our on-call help covers valves of any brand, type or size.
Is it worth revitalising old valves instead of buying new ones?
Often it is. Valves that are passing, leaking at the gland, have broken spindles, damaged linings or seats, or a gearbox that no longer works can be revitalised at our works and re-certified. Send us the details and we will tell you whether your valves are suitable.
Which standards and inspection apply to revitalised valves?
Revitalisation is carried out to API, MSS SP, ANSI and IBR standards, with 100% third-party inspection and re-certification.
Do revitalised valves carry a warranty?
Yes. We offer a warranty on valves we have revitalised.
Can you help without coming to site?
Yes. Our on-call service puts you on a video call with our valve specialists, who suggest immediate, short-term and long-term fixes and the safety steps to follow. If the problem persists, we can send a team to your plant.
Do you take on shutdowns and annual maintenance contracts?
Yes. We have taken up major shutdown jobs across process industries since 2022, and since 2024 have run annual maintenance contracts for valve servicing across multiple locations.
